Fat Trucks Cut Ahead of Zero ODOL
Tegal - The Department of Transportation accompanied by the management of the land transportation organization (Organda) of Tegal City cut (normalized) the tailgate, which initially did not pass the test due to the Over Dimension and Over Loading (Odol) categories in a truck garage on Jalan Raya Pantura Dampyak, Tegal Regency, Central Java (Thursday 01 September 2022)
The Head of Transportation and Testing of Motorized Vehicles at the Tegal City Transportation Agency, Santosa, said that the tailgate that had just been normalized (cut) was because it did not pass the test (KIR). For this reason, normalization is needed so that the truck can operate.
"There are hundreds of trucks that do not pass the KIR test, because ODOL has to be normalized. We cut it earlier because the width was 10 cm, the standard is 250 cm," said Santosa.
Furthermore, Santosa said, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), in early 2023, Indonesia must be Zero ODOL. This means that there are no more fat vehicles paving.
"The Ministry of Transportation is targeting the early year of 2023, Indonesia Zero Odol," he added.
The head of the Tegal Popo City Organda, supports the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) regulation regarding the prohibition of ODOL because it can be dangerous on the highway. To be advised to land transportation entrepreneurs to comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Transportation.
"Entrepreneurs whose fleet includes ODOL must be normalized immediately, because that is a consequence. Those who exceed it will cut themselves," said Popo.
