Evacuating The Wreck of a Bus that has Fallen into a Ravine in Guci Tegal
Tegal, The process of evacuating the wreckage of a bus that plunged into the Guci river, Tegal Regency, Monday 8 May 2023. The death toll from this bus accident has increased to 2 people.
The incident began when a group of 36 residents of North Serpong District, South Tangerang City (Tangsel), made a tour and pilgrimage to Guci Tegal.
When the bus parked in an uneven place, and then several passengers got on the bus and were about to go home, suddenly the bus walked alone without a driver. Then plunged into a steep river. As a result of this accident, two victims died in a bus incident that fell into a ravine on the Guci Tourism Route, Tegal Regency, Central Java, on Sunday (7/5/2023).
Initially it was known that the group numbered 107 people, which were divided into two buses containing 54 and 53 people respectively. The last moments of the victims on the bus before the unfortunate incident were in an atmosphere of togetherness and happiness while carrying out pilgrimage activities at Wisata Guci. The pilgrimage activity of the Taklim Assembly itself is apparently not the first time it has been carried out.
Mizan Fadhil (52), the organizer and person in charge of the activity, confirmed that a similar agenda had become an annual routine activity carried out by two assemblies in North Serpong, South Tangerang. The Al-Hikmah Taklim Council and the Nurul Ikhlas Taklim Council were listed as executors of the pilgrimage.
“This pilgrimage activity is usually carried out two weeks after Eid. Starting from Cirebon, Demak, to the graves of Sunan Kalijaga, Sunan Kudus, and Mount Muria," said Mizan, Monday (8/5/2023).
For this year, Mizan added, the two taklim assemblies plan to visit three places. After Cirebon, they will continue their journey to Guci, Tegal, and then to Pekalongan.
"For this year, the goal is to Cirebon, Pemalang, Pekalongan and Guci. Earlier the group did not have time to go to Pekalongan because they went to Guci first, then they planned to return via Pekalongan," he explained.
However, unlucky happened when the group was preparing to leave Guci, the bus carrying one of the assembly plunged into the river.
Until now, Mizan has not been able to confirm whether similar and routine activities carried out every year by the taklim assembly will be held again the following year.
“I am not just a victim, I still feel traumatized. Indeed, I am the person in charge, but the other victims must have experienced more severe trauma, "said Mizan.
