Jepara Police Traffic Unit Conducts Ramp Checks on Bus Fleets

Jepara - To ensure security, safety, order, and smooth traffic flow during the New Year 2026, the Jepara Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas) conducted ramp checks on public transportation vehicles as part of Operation Candle Candi 2025.

The ramp checks took place at the Sahaalah Bus Garage in Ngabul Village, Tahunan District, Jepara Regency, on Friday (December 26, 2025).

This activity was a preventative measure to ensure the safety of land transportation during this period of increased public mobility.

In addition to the Transportation Agency, the Jepara Police Health Department was also involved in conducting health checks on drivers and passengers of public transportation and buses.

During the ramp checks, officers conducted a thorough inspection of the vehicle's technical aspects, including engine condition, brake function, light function, tire condition, and wiper blades.

Furthermore, the completeness of vehicle documents and driver documentation was a key priority to ensure that each vehicle was truly roadworthy.

During the inspection, Jepara Police Traffic Unit officers also reminded drivers to always obey traffic laws, comply with applicable regulations, and respect other road users for the safety of all.

When contacted, Jepara Police Chief, AKBP Erick Budi Santoso, through the Head of the Jepara Police Public Relations Sub-division, First Inspector Eko Adi Prayitno, Head of the Public Relations Task Force for Operation Candle Candi 2025, stated that the ramp check aims to minimize the potential for traffic accidents caused by vehicles that do not meet safety standards.

"This ramp check is a preventative measure to ensure that public transportation vehicles operating during the New Year holidays are truly roadworthy. This is crucial to minimize the potential for traffic accidents and reduce fatalities on the roads," he said.

In addition to vehicle inspections, officers also reminded drivers to always obey traffic regulations, maintain good health, avoid overexerting themselves when tired, and prioritize passenger safety during the trip.

Drivers were also reminded not to exceed the speed limit and to avoid using cell phones while driving. First Inspector Eko added that this ramp check activity also served as a means of public awareness regarding the implementation of Operation Candle Candi 2025. Through this activity, it is hoped that the public will be aware of the presence of the National Police (Polri) and related agencies in providing security and services during the year-end holidays.

"The main goal of this activity is to create a sense of security and comfort for road users, especially public transportation passengers. Furthermore, we want to raise traffic awareness and increase public trust in the National Police," he concluded.
