ASDP and ALDEI Sign Cooperation to Strengthen Integrated National Logistics Ecosystem
Amid the growing need for fast, efficient, and integrated goods distribution, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) continues to strengthen its role as a national connectivity hub. This commitment has been realized through the signing of a strategic partnership Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of maritime logistics with the Indonesian Digital Economy Logistics Association (ALDEI).
The cooperation agreement was signed by ASDP Director of Operations and Transformation Rio Lasse and Chairman of the Indonesian Digital Economy Logistics Association Imam Sedayu on Wednesday (6/5) in Jakarta. This collaboration marks a concrete step toward building a more integrated, adaptive, and competitive national logistics ecosystem in the era of digital transformation.
For ASDP, ferry services are no longer just about connecting ports. More than that, ferry services have now become an important part of the national supply chain that determines the smooth distribution of goods between regions, especially in an archipelagic country like Indonesia.
ASDP Director of Operations and Transformation Rio Lasse emphasized that this partnership is part of the company’s sustainable transformation to expand its strategic contribution in the national logistics sector.
“We are not only continuing to transform as a ferry operator, but also as an important part of the national logistics ecosystem. Through this collaboration, ASDP aims to deliver increasingly integrated and efficient services so that inter-regional connectivity and the smooth flow of logistics distribution can run more optimally,” Rio said in a press release (8/5).
The scope of cooperation includes optimizing port and ferry services for inter-island logistics fleets, strengthening multimodal connectivity, and improving the efficiency of national and international supply chains. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the flow of goods distribution more effectively while strengthening the competitiveness of Indonesia’s logistics sector.
In addition, both parties are also encouraging the optimal utilization of idle assets in the form of land, buildings, and other supporting facilities to support logistics activities such as staging areas and warehouses. The synergy is also directed toward joint promotions and the utilization of digital channels to expand service reach and create added value for all stakeholders.
Currently, ASDP operates hundreds of ferry routes supported by more than 220 vessels and 37 ferry ports across Indonesia. Approximately 67% of the routes served by ASDP are in areas not yet reached by commercial shipping, making the company play a vital role in maintaining national connectivity and the smooth distribution of logistics.
“With a service network that reaches many remote and strategic areas, ASDP has a great responsibility in keeping the national logistics flow moving. We are optimistic that this collaboration will deliver increasingly reliable, efficient logistics services capable of answering the continuously evolving distribution needs,” Rio added.
Chairman of ALDEI Imam Sedayu also expressed his commitment to continue promoting the creation of a healthy, efficient, and competitive logistics ecosystem to support the sustainable acceleration of Indonesia’s digital economy growth. As an inter-regional connector, ASDP is committed to continuously strengthening collaboration and service innovation to support inclusive and sustainable national connectivity.
