The Argentine Rally Cross Country Championship have a Very Complicated Race

The Uruguayan driver Laurent "Lagarto" Lazard (Yamaha) was present on the last date of the Argentine Rally Cross Country Championship, the Lujan Rally, in the Province of Buenos Aires, where he had a very complicated race, but based on his determination, experience and courage, he was able to finish in fourth place in Motorcycles.

A date that initially had two stages, but the organizers had to suspend Sunday's due to the heavy rains that fell in previous days in that area that made the roads impassable.

As for the Off Road Uruguay team, they held the last race of this year, with three drivers, who were located in the first five places since David Tieppo was second, Lazard fourth and Marcos Ruffinatti finished fifth.

For “Lagarto” Lazard it was a very good preparation for his seventh (not counting the one that was suspended) Dakar that will be leaving this year on January 5, 2013, where he will ride a new Yamaha. He has a different preparation for this Dakar, a new support team and will be in the same team as last year, the MOTO TEAM BY ELF which, this year in addition to the three riders who were participating in the previous edition, will be add two more. The presentation will be next Monday 10 at the Boca Junior Stadium.

"The truth is that I am very satisfied with the performance of the team because we were always in the fight for the first places," Lazard began the conversation. He then added “I had a pretty tough race. A few kilometers into the Special Test, I lost my navigation instruments due to electrical problems. This led me to run out of road book, GPs and irritrack. I had to do the whole stage by moving the roadmap by hand. This limits you a bit since you can not go as fast. Luckily it was not a very difficult terrain, the roads were fast, with a lot of mud, but I knew that some of them were accessible. When there were about 180 km to go, a wasp stung me on the upper lip and not only did it swell quite a bit (I look like a monster) but the pain did not let me concentrate”.

This race, in addition to accumulating more experience, helped him to see if the pain did not appear due to the strong blow he had in Mendoza "The important thing, beyond the result, is to add experience and finish, to continue adapting to the Rally Yamaha. My The main objective in this race in Luján was to see if the blow I had in Mendoza had been left behind and, the truth is that there was no pain”.

Then he reviewed what had happened this year after the Dakar “It was very positive, we did a lot of races, we worked a lot on navigation. I feel ready to face the Dakar. I want to thank all the companies that supported me in 2012, both in the last edition of the Dakar and in Uruguay and Argentina, but I also have to acknowledge all those who accompanied me, whether they were drivers, mechanics and friends who always give a big hand."

In the 2013 Peru-Argentina-Chile Dakar he will ride with the same team and a new Yamaha “For this Dakar, my seventh without counting the one that was suspended, we will be present with a new Yamaha, with different preparation, a new assistance team, but in the same team, the MOTO TEAM BY ELF that this time, in addition to the three riders from last year, will join two more. Like last year, this team will be presenting next Monday the 10th in Buenos Aires, at the Bombonera”.

Laurent Lazard, the Uruguayan rider with the longest history in the Dakar, has prepared thoroughly, knowing that to have a chance of coming first and after being in a good final position, the only way is to train and train.
