DCVI Releases a Dozen World-Standard Mercedes-Benz Truck and Bus Mechanics onto Indonesian Roads

The advancement of logistics fleet technology, intercity buses, and heavy transportation equipment in Indonesia’s mining sector increasingly demands highly precise mechanical system reliability.

In response, PT Daimler Commercial Vehicles Indonesia (DCVI) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to developing high-quality human resources by graduating the fourth batch of the Daimler Commercial Vehicles Apprentice Training (DCVAT) program.

This comprehensive program is specially designed to transform young talent into professional mechanics ready to be deployed directly into the modern transportation ecosystem.

Carrying the overarching theme “Transforming Potential into Professional Excellence”, this year’s graduation ceremony marked the success of 12 top participants who completed a full year of intensive training.

The program’s curriculum integrates in-depth theoretical knowledge of heavy vehicle electrical-mechanical systems, hands-on practice at official dealer workshops, strengthening of discipline, teamwork management, and alignment of character with Daimler Truck’s global work ethic standards.

This strategic step was taken by DCVI as a concrete response to the surging demand for highly competent technical personnel amid the rapid growth of the national logistics sector, construction, mining expansion, and inter-regional passenger transport operators.

President Director of PT DCVI, Naeem Hassim, stated that the main foundation of competitiveness in the commercial vehicle industry no longer rests solely on advanced fleet technology, but on the expertise of the human resources who carry out frontline maintenance services.

“Every individual begins their journey with potential. However, potential alone is never enough. Potential must be developed through learning, strengthened through experience, and shaped through discipline, commitment, and hard work,” he emphasized on Thursday (28/5/2026).

“Through DCVAT, we aim to help prepare a young professional generation that not only possesses technical skills but is also ready to continue growing, competing, and making positive contributions to Indonesia’s commercial vehicle industry,” he added.

“We hope these graduates can become part of a new generation that helps Indonesia build a high-performance work culture as expected by Daimler Truck globally,” Naeem Hassim continued.

Operationally, the sustainability of the DCVAT program relies on a solid “golden triangle” synergy: active collaboration between the APM (DCVI), the network of official Mercedes-Benz Truck & Bus dealers in Indonesia, and the team of internal technical instructors and mentors.

During the training period, participants were taught to perform routine maintenance, handle hydraulic system issues, and read complex electrical diagrams to ensure high levels of operational efficiency (uptime) for customer fleets.

Interestingly, at the 2026 graduation ceremony, the new graduates also had the opportunity to exchange experiences directly with alumni from previous DCVAT batches.

These alumni are now actively playing crucial roles as the frontline in the after-sales service ecosystem for heavy trucks such as the Mercedes-Benz Axor, Actros, Arocs, as well as various Mercedes-Benz bus chassis variants across the archipelago.

Through this exceptional combination of global Daimler Truck engineering and measurable improvements in mechanical competence, DCVI is optimistic that the future efficiency of commercial transportation businesses in Indonesia will continue to be well-maintained.

Because ultimately, the performance of reliable truck fleets and efficient buses on the roads is largely determined by the skilled hands of expert technicians who safeguard customers’ operational vehicles every single day.
