This fateful incident occurred on Jalan Padang-Bengkulu, precisely at the descent of Bukit Pulai, Kenagarian IV Koto Hilie, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, Saturday (14/5/2022).
As a result of the incident, the Pertalite tanker truck was badly damaged. Meanwhile, three people were reportedly injured. Two people suffered serious injuries, and one person suffered minor injuries. The three victims were taken to the nearest health center.
There has been no official statement from the police. However, in the amateur video of residents circulating, the community together with the police have made an evacuation effort.

The Pertalite tanker truck accident with the police number (nopol) BA 8225 QO that occurred at the lower bend of the Bukit Pulai Highway, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra, resulted in three injuries.
Kasatlantas Pesisir Selatan Police, Iptu Riwal through Kanit Laka, Ipda Subhan through his official statement explained, as a result of the accident the driver and passenger as well as the assistant were seriously injured.
After the incident, the police and the local community have tried to help the process of evacuating the victims.
"It's true, at around 15.00 WIB located on Jalan Raya Bukit Pulai, Kampung Jalamu, Kenagarian IV Koto Hilie, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency, there was a Single Traffic Accident (Out Control), one unit of Pertamina Tank Truck Mitsubishi Fuso BA 8225 QO red and white, driven by Taufik Hidayat who came from Padang to Batang Kapas while crossing the Bukit Pulai Highway, when he arrived at the scene there was a sharp bend and downhill. controlled and fell into the abyss,” said Subhan.
Subhan said, two people suffered serious injuries due to broken bones, hands and feet, while another person suffered minor injuries.
He explained that the three victims were Taufik Hidayat, 28 years old as a driver, Muhammad Rifki, 20 years old as a assistant, and Suhandra, 31 years old, a passenger.
Previously, the three victims were taken to the Pasar Kuok Batang Kapas Health Center. However, due to serious injuries, he was finally referred to M. Zein Painan Hospital.
“As a result of this incident the driver and the person who was riding suffered injuries, broken bones in their hands and feet. While the car driver only suffered minor injuries, they are now being referred to M. Zein Painan Hospital for further treatment,” he said.
The chronology of the incident, said Subhan, was because suddenly at a sharp bend in Bukit Pulai, Batang Kapas, the truck had a brake failure. As a result, the driver lost control and hit the road safety concrete and in the end fell over into a ravine approximately 60 meters.
