Truck Drivers in Sampit Urge Government to Remove Solar Subsidy

SAMPIT – Hundreds of truck drivers who are members of the Indonesian Logistics and Forwarding Association (ALFI) of Central Kalimantan (Kalteng) staged an action in front of the East Kotawaringin DPRD building (Kotim). They urged the government to revoke the diesel subsidy, because it was deemed not right on target.

"We have difficulty getting diesel fuel at the gas station, we have to queue for a day or two and pay for parking at the gas station which is quite expensive so that our work is hampered," said ALFI coordinator Budi during a speech at the front, Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

According to them, the scarcity of diesel fuel is due to the large number of smugglers and irresponsible persons at each gas station, even asking for one-price diesel fuel subsidies.

"We make subsidized diesel only one price so that there is no misappropriation and it is right on target in the community," Budi said in his oration.

Budi said they lost 50 percent of their work productivity every day due to the scarcity of diesel fuel at each gas station.

"Our work productivity has decreased by 50 percent, due to queuing to get diesel fuel at every gas station," he concluded.
