PO Sinar Jaya became the best passenger bus company according to the Ministry of Transportation in 2020. This bus company, which was founded in 1982, serves routes to various regions

PT Sinar Jaya Megah Langgeng aka Sinar Jaya Autobus Company (PO) is one of the best people transportation companies according to the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) 2020. The 40 year old PO bus took home first place in the 2020 National Wahana Adhigana award in the large-economy category, outperforming PT Selamat Sugeng Rahayu and PT Eka Mira Prima Sentosa.

Just so you know, the Wahana Adhigana that Sinar Jaya received is an award for public transportation companies that meet and implement minimum service standards, safety management systems, and service level agreements.

The buses, which mostly serve routes from Jakarta to Central Java and East Java, are well-known among AKAP bus passengers on the island of Java. Apart from the affordable price, the fleet is also quite large. Currently there are at least 1,000 fleets.

Looking back, PO Sinar Jaya has indeed colored the world of transportation in Indonesia for quite a long time. Herman Rusly and H. Rasidin, who have been involved in the world of transportation since 1969, founded PO Sinar Jaya on November 18 1982 in Bekasi, West Java.

In 1972, Teddy Kurniawan Rusly, Herman Rusly's son, continued PO Sinar Jaya after completing his education in Germany. Teddy immediately continued the transportation business to this day.

Under Teddy's leadership, PO Sinar Jaya continues to grow. PT Sinar Jaya Megah Langgeng, which has an office in Jakarta, was founded in 1989. Then in 1994 they established a branch office in Brebes. They also established Pertamina gas stations to guarantee the quality of the Sinar Jaya fleet's fuel. This gas station is supported by PT Sinar Jaya Kilang Mandiri. A year later, in 1995, Sinar Jaya established a subsidiary in the field of tourism and employee pick-up and drop-off under the name PT Sinar Jaya Langgeng Utama.

Not only has it developed from a business perspective, PO Sinar Jaya's routes have also been expanded. As time went by, Sinar Jaya buses, which initially only served the Bekasi-Jonggol AKDP route, began to expand to Central Java. Some of the destination areas are Slawi, Tegal, Bumiayu, Purwokerto, Bobotsari, Purbalingga and Wonosobo. They are also working on routes to East Java by serving the Jakarta-Surabaya route.

Not satisfied with just being an AKAP bus, PO Sinar Jaya started providing Jabodetabek routes. In 2018 they opened new services, namely Jabodetabek Residence Connexion, Mutiara Gading Timur, and Jabodetabek Airport Connexion for the Bogor Nirwana Residence area, Bella Terra Mall Kelapa Gading, and Bogor Trade Mall.

To date, Sinar Jaya is recorded as providing AKAP buses, AKDP buses, tourist buses, employee pick-up and drop-off buses and city buses with its fleet of more than 1,000. Sinar Jaya Bus also now has double decker buses to increase passenger comfort.

Apart from that, to ensure the availability of components for its fleet, PT Sinar Jaya Prima Niaga was founded in 2010. Just so you know, PO Sinar Jaya initially used a lot of chassis or lower frames for vehicles made by Hino. However, as time progressed, PO Sinar Jaya began to use premium chassis like Mercedes-Benz. For the body, Sinar Jaya uses Adiputro and Laksana.

In 2023, the Sinar Jaya Autobus Company (PO) will launch a new service for the Kalideres-Yogyakarta and Lebak Bulus-Malang routes. The newest service in question is a sleeper bus with a Suites Family seat model. For those who don't know, the Suites Family sleeper bus has a 2+1 reclining seat configuration. The advantage is that passengers bringing their families can sit next to each other in one capsule, with reclining or sleeper seats.

"Good news for friends in the Yogyakarta, Malang and surrounding areas. The newest service from PO Sinar Jaya Suite Family is operational," wrote the admin of the Instagram account @sinarjaya.group in a post uploaded a few days ago.
