2 Trucks Fall into the River When the Bridge Connecting Villages in Bengkulu Is Broken
Bengkulu – Two trucks fell into the river when the bridge connecting villages in Bengkulu Tengah Regency, Bengkulu Province was cut off. The broken bridge occurred precisely in Paku Haji Village, Pondok Kubang District, Central Bengkulu.
According to the Secretary of BPBD Bengkulu Province, Khristian Hermansyah, the bridge was broken because some parts of the bridge material were not strong, plus two trucks were passing simultaneously.
"There were two trucks that flew into the river because the bridge they were crossing was cut off, although there were no casualties," said Khristian, Friday, September 30, 2022.
Kristian said the bridge connecting the villages was often damaged. It is suspected that the damage caused by the bridge was indeed old, and could not withstand the passing of two trucks at the same time.
"The bridge was cut off because it was crossed by two trucks with heavy loads at the same time," said Khristian.
It is known, the fall of two trucks from the bridge had gone viral on a number of social media. The bridge is reportedly often damaged due to being hit by several floods in the area.
