Already 1800 Over Loading Trucks ticketed by the Police
Riau - From 2022 to October, at least 1,800 trucks have been ticketed. The truck was punished for violating the Over Dimension Over Load or ODOL.
"We give them a ticket, we educate and warn them, on average they are overloaded, the load exceeds the regulatory limit," said Head of the Riau Province Transportation Service, Andi Yanto, Tuesday (11/10/2022).
His party will continue to monitor and take action in accordance with applicable regulations if a vehicle is found to be violating the rules. Both in terms of completeness of vehicle documents as well as in terms of cargo and vehicle dimensions.
"The action we can take is in the form of a ticket, hopefully it can provide a deterrent effect," he said.
Andi explained that thousands of ODOL trucks were caught in raids conducted by a joint team in a number of areas in Riau Province. The joint team consisted of the Riau Provincial Transportation Service, the Riau Police Ditlantas, POM TNI AD, Korwas PPNS Ditkrimsus Riau Police.
Andi Yanto said that the activity was carried out in four. namely, eastern crossing, western crossing, northern crossing, and southern crossing in the province of Riau. He said that raids on the eastern crossing were carried out in the districts of Indragiri Hulu, Pelalawan and Indragiri Hilir. Then, in Lintas Utara which includes Siak, Dumai, Rokan Hilir.
Traffic, West Traffic which consists of Kampar Regency, Rokan Hulu and Southern Cross covers Kuansing Regency.
