Tebingtinggi - Allegedly due to strong winds, a large tree estimated to be decades old, Thursday afternoon (6/10/2022) at around 17:00 WIB. A fallen tree hits a truck.
The tree that fell onto the road section hit a container truck that was passing on M.Yamin Street, Tanjung Marulak Hilir Village, Rambutan District, Tebingtinggi City.
According to journalists at the scene, a large tree fell on the head of the container truck with the police number BK 9186 IN.
As a result of this incident, the truck driver, Hasiholan Lumban Tobing, approximately 65 years old, a resident from Medan, and his assistant, was caught in the truck.
Residents at the scene tried to help to get the driver and assistant out of the truck.
Residents then rushed the two victims to a nearby hospital for medical assistance.
Getting a report from the public, the Head of the Tebingtinggi Police, AKP. Dhoraria Simanjuntak and his personnel immediately rushed to the scene.
Arriving at the location, Kasat immediately contacted the Tebingtinggi City Perkimsi Service to immediately evacuate the fallen tree.
Due to this incident, the container truck was crushed in the head of the truck and could not be used anymore.
One of the witnesses, Ernawati (55), said that she was surprised by this incident.
Ernawati is a trader who sells under the tree every day.
“Surprised to see a big tree fall and hit the truck. The truck was from Kisaran to Medan," he said.

This incident, continued Dhoraria, was allegedly due to heavy rain and strong winds that afternoon, so the tree roots could not withstand the weight of the tree.
"In the end, it fell onto the road and hit the container truck as it passed," explained Dhoraria.
For the victims themselves, said Dhoraria, there were no casualties from this incident.
"It's just that the driver and the assistant were seriously injured and we have rushed them to the hospital for medical treatment," he said.
