Allied Coaches Receives Its First Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor
Jakarta - Allied Coaches has taken delivery of its first two Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor buses to strengthen its key operational and daily charter services, which are the hallmark of the company. The latest buses replace older vehicles from their six-strong fleet. Both are prepared for international rugby and football team transport as well as private hires, corporate events, conferences, and school trips.
“When we started looking for new buses, Volvo Buses was highly recommended in terms of performance, build quality, and the strength of its after-sales support. Reliability is extremely important to us because we need to maximise bus operational time, and the group’s reputation gave us real confidence in this investment,” said Allied Coaches Managing Director, Sinéad Nolan, on Monday (23/3/26).
The Allied Coaches Volvo B8R MCV eVoTor buses come in 53-seat and 57-seat configurations. These distinctive 12.6-metre graphite grey buses are powered by Volvo’s eight-litre engine. The efficient Volvo D8K engine produces 350 hp and 1,585 Nm of torque, paired with a 12-speed I-Shift automatic transmission.
The buses are PSVAR compliant and equipped with a wheelchair lift to ensure easy access. Inside the cabin, there is generous overhead luggage storage, a Bosch audio-visual system, and USB charging ports.
The seats are reclinable and come with tray tables, magazine nets, and footrests for a comfortable and practical journey. The 53-seat model features a centre toilet, which can be removed to increase capacity to 55 seats. Meanwhile, the 57-seat model allows for greater seating capacity.
“Our drivers were involved in the decision-making process and were impressed with the drivability and overall comfort of the eVoTor. Early feedback from our customers has also been very positive, so it’s clear we have made the right choice,” said Sinéad Nolan.
