Transport solutions Scania and new solutions for business
In the middle of the first spring month, Scania reported on the results of 2017 and reminded of itself not only as an automotive company, but also that the key task of the concern today is to provide the client with a ready transport solution for business. This is much more important than just selling equipment.
The Russian truck market in 2017 showed an increase of 74% compared with 2016. Over the past year in Russia, 6107 units of Scania machinery were shipped, which is 171% more than in 2016. In the communal segment, the company supplied 149 units of equipment, with a market share of 67%. In 2017, 789 units of dump trucks were built at the Russian plant in St. Petersburg, which provided positions among the "big seven" of European manufacturers with a market share of 27% in this segment.
Last year in Russia for the first time there were three unique tractors of a new generation with engines of the sixth ecological class. We summarize the dry sales figures for 2017 for the technical segments: quarry equipment - 324 units, gasoline engines - 34 pieces, 789 units of dump trucks, 149 municipal and road machines, 75 timber trucks, 150 cars in the rental park and 826 cars with mileage. The supply of diesel power plants continues. At the end of 2017, 324 DGUs were shipped, of which 70 companies became owners, Scania's market share was 48% among European manufacturers in this segment, which is 3% more than in 2016.
In 2016 the company from Sodertalje realized and provided service support for 13 chassis operating on compressed gas, in 2017 this figure was 34 units, which is 161.5% more. According to experts Scania, the use of this fuel gives a saving of up to 40%. In 2018, we are planning to sell more than two hundred gas-engine vehicles in our country, and they will all be the sixth ecological class. Separately it is worth noting another curious aspect in the speakers' reports: based on the specifics of the territory of Russia, we will have classic diesel engines for many years, despite the development of gas, electric and hybrid power plants, so it's premature to send a diesel engine to retirement.
In July 2015, a new integrated product for effective management was launched under the name "Scania Drive". For the year 2017, more than 35% of the equipment was shipped immediately with the "Drive" package, this result almost doubled the figures for 2016. The novelty of 2017 was the opportunity to purchase this option for 5 years. In 2016, responding to seasonal demand, Scania developed the program "Scania Rental". This program is designed for customers who need freight equipment for temporary operation. The technique is provided for a period of one to twelve months. The cost is calculated based on the planned service life of the machine and is paid by fixed payments monthly. At the same time, the rental price includes insurance for "Hijack + Damage" risks with an unlimited number of drivers admitted to management, maintenance and repair at any official Scania dealer center. Thanks to the rental program today, 150 units of Scania equipment are located in the vehicle fleets of customers. Last year, 54% of Scania's shipped equipment was partnered with Scania Leasing, and the share of acquiring service contracts increased by 32% from 2014.
Despite the difficult crisis period, the Swedes managed to keep one of the largest dealer networks in Russia. To date, Scania has 60 service stations in Russia. In 2017, a new station was opened in Golitsyno, in 2018 in Noginsk, and in Novosibirsk a new regional auto parts warehouse Scania was put into operation. In addition, visiting teams are organized. This year the company invests in the development of independent dealers in Yekaterinburg, Penza, Kazan and Ulyanovsk. Since this year, a new service is offered - a personal flexible maintenance plan - "Scania FLEX". In the case of significant changes in the operating conditions of the machines, the maintenance program is automatically adjusted. Accurately planned maintenance reduces the risk of breakdowns and unscheduled repairs. There is also a program for the exchange of spare parts "Scania Exchange", which assumes the possibility of purchasing the original part, restored at the Scania plant in Sweden, but at a lower price. Do not forget and cars in quarries and sections, at mining and metallurgical enterprises. Scania continues to implement the remote services program for customers in the case of equipment operation in remote fields.
Total fleet control and school mastery
In July 2013, Scania FMS fleet monitoring system (Fleet Management System) was installed and launched for all Scania cars in Russia, which allows to monitor the car's operational parameters, as well as the level of driving. Among the monitored data are: engine speed, travel geography, number of braking, fuel consumption, Scania driver support. In 2013, 1554 machines Scania in Russia were connected to the FMS. In 2017, they were already 16,843, and the share of all connected to the FMS "Scania" was 94%. For convenience, the driver training program is also offered, which allows to increase their qualification.
Bus direction
The cooperation of the Swedish company Scania and the Russian group GAZ has lasted for more than 10 years, beginning with the release of tourist buses "Cruise" on the chassis of Scania. Six years later, the assembling of intercity buses "Voyage" started, after which a tripartite agreement was signed on transport services for the Sochi 2014 Olympics. A year later the buses built by the GAZ Group were tested in Sweden at the Scania training grounds. In 2017, OOO Skania-Rus signed a contract with the GAZ Group to supply 541 chassis for the production of LiAZ buses Voyage. This order is the largest after the project in the framework of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, when the company Scania supplied 700 chassis for the production of buses.
