3 Mining Truck Problems and How to Prevent them

Often problems with mining trucks occur in the middle of the journey, one of which is a mining truck or dump truck which incidentally always carries heavy mining materials.

Not a few problems with this truck are often the trigger for accidents on the track. Therefore, proper prevention and treatment need to be done. especially for mining companies that use trucks as their main tool.

What are the problems with mining trucks that often occur? Let's see below:

Broken Axle

The problem that is quite often experienced by mining trucks is broken axles. This is usually caused by the load carried by the truck exceeds the limits recommended by the manufacturer or vehicle manufacturer.

Not only that, the lack of maintenance on the legs of the truck can also cause the axle components to weaken, for example rust and eventually become porous because they are too often covered in dirt that settles and is rarely cleaned.

Of course, a broken axle when the mining truck is running can trigger an accident, because the truck support will automatically disappear. Moreover, the load of the truck and its cargo itself is quite heavy and can harm other road users

Flat tire

The next problem that often occurs in mining trucks is a broken tire. Usually the trigger for a truck tire to burst is due to excessive loading and lack of maintenance. No wonder so many trucks use abandoned tires. But of course this is not safe.

Just like with a broken axle, tires as the foundation of the vehicle can also cause the truck to lose control and even overturn if it explodes. Especially with a large payload and high speed. Once again due to problems with vehicle tires and cargo.

Clutch Wear Out

The next problem is in the worn clutch which is also common in trucks. This is usually caused by trucks carrying heavy loads too often, which affects the speed of the vehicle.

If the clutch wears out, it can cause the truck to be unable to run even though the engine speed is high, or if it runs it will cause slippage because the transmission gear will be difficult to move and of course dangerous, especially when the road is uphill.

Various problems with mining trucks while operating can occur anytime and anywhere. However, this can be prevented if you always carry out routine maintenance, use vehicles according to standards, and always comply with traffic regulations.

Maintenance for mining trucks, dump trucks or special mining trucks is certainly a top priority that cannot be underestimated, especially for industry players to prevent accidents.
