Tronton Truck Almost Dropped into the Sea
A tronton truck skidded at the Tanjungwangi Harbor pier, Banyuwangi, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 night. This large truck almost fell into the sea.
Luckily the truck frame got caught in a pipe on the side of the pier. The driver and passenger of the truck with Police number L 8784 UD only suffered minor injuries.
This unfortunate truck was driven by Nurul Duwi Prastia, 30, a resident of Sidomulyo, Banyuputih District, Situbondo. At that time, Nurul Duwi Prastia was accompanied by his wife, Yuli Mala Sari, 31 years old.
At that time, they had just returned from Mataram, riding KMP Mutiara Sentosa III. At that time the truck load was empty. This ship arrived at Tanjungwangi Harbor at around 22.00 WIB, Wednesday night.
"Around 23.00 WIB, when the driver was about to get off the ship by the ship's officers, it was not allowed to maneuver so that he could get off with the vehicle facing forward," explained the Head of the Tanjungwangi Port Area Police, Banyuwangi, AKP Ali Masduki.
Then the driver lowers the vehicle from 2 to the 1st floor by retreating with the guidance of the ship's officers. Once on the 1st floor, the vehicle is still directed to walk backwards to get out of the ship. This time without being guided. The ship's crew just gave a signal from a distance.
When the truck is moving backwards on the pier, the driver gets directions to go left so the driver turns his vehicle to the left. Without realizing it, it turned out that the position of the truck had not yet reached the end of the pier.
"So the truck skidded and rolled over and got caught in a pipe and almost fell into the sea," he explained.
As a result of the incident, the victim's wife had fallen into the sea. Seeing this, the truck driver immediately swam to help his wife. The woman only had bruises on her left leg and a swollen little finger on her left hand.
Until now, according to Ali, the truck is still not stuck in the pipe. Efforts to evacuate trucks are still waiting for coordination with related parties.
"We are still coordinating with related agencies for the truck evacuation process," he explained.
