The truck was known to be traveling from the Tembesi direction to Mukakuning at a fairly high speed. Both are parallel. In front of the truck was a Rush driven by a man and another passenger.

The load of the truck bearing the BP 9168 DE number plate was scattered into the lake, which was none other than a gas cylinder.

The truck driver, Tukin (31), admitted that he was still in shock. He couldn't imagine being safe. It happened so fast.

"This is the impact of the collision that I experienced earlier. I almost died," he said.

Tukin explained that the accident occurred at around 08.00 WIB. At that time, he drove from the direction of Tembesi towards Panbil.

When crossing the road from Bukit Daeng, he claimed to see the movement of the Toyota Rush car with the BP 1368 FR number plate wrong. He said the Toyota Rush driver suddenly changed lanes.

"He (the Toyota Rush Driver) was driving on the right and I was on the left," he said.

Panicked, Tukin chose to dodge and hit the brakes. However, because the brakes were too hard, the truck brakes failed.

“And finally chose to jump into the Dam area. Luckily I was wearing a seat belt," he said.

Allegedly Rush Driver Avoids Cats

Tukin then continued not knowing the identity of the Toyota Rush driver. He only saw a man who got off the vehicle and looked panicked, then another passenger was suspected to be a minor.

"What I saw was a man descending. But he looked panicked. Then he, I saw also bring the children from the car. They have been taken for treatment. I think the family was in the car. left because he wanted to avoid cats," he explained.

After surviving the incident, Tukin was seen rescuing a gas cylinder that had fallen into the water.

Meanwhile, from observations at the scene of the incident, it appears that the traffic police have managed traffic. This is because the trucks that plunged into the Mukakuning Dam are being evacuated and dozens of gas cylinders have been evacuated to the mainland.

The Toyota Rush, which is said to be the cause of the accident, also appeared to have suffered severe damage to the front after hitting a road divider.*
