Drive Garbage Truck to Graduation Event

Solok, - The eyes of many people turned to Mitra Yoriskia when they arrived at Mahaputra Muhammad Yamin University (UMMY) Solok City to attend the graduation ceremony. Who would have thought, the 24-year-old woman was driving a garbage truck to her best moment.

The partner who looks elegant wearing a kebaya with a toga looks down from the cabin of a tall truck driver. Her steps are not awkward because it turns out that this woman's activities are no stranger to garbage trucks.

"At the graduation yesterday, I was the one driving the Solok City DLH (Environmental Service) truck which is used to transport garbage every day," said Mitra quoting Antara, Thursday (6/10).

There is no word of prestige for Mitra when driving a garbage truck because from that job he won a law degree.

"This has become a daily job. Even in the work environment, many friends provide support to continue studying," he said.

Mitra has worked as an honorary at DLH Solok City since 2018. At first she was just a volunteer and the only woman in the field of cleaning or transporting garbage.

Then in 2021 he was appointed as an honorary part of the supervisory section of the collapsed transportation and DLH trucks in Solok City.

"From here I can study at my own expense," said Mitra relented

Mitra said that in fact he had graduated from a state university majoring in sports. It's just that the conditions at that time were not possible because they saw that his two brothers were still in college. He chose to give in and work.

"In the end, I chose to work first and after that I could only continue my studies at the UMMY Solok campus," said Mitra.

He claimed to have full support from his place of work. He is also always smart in choosing lecture hours so it doesn't interfere with work.

"From the results of this work, I can help my father who only works in the workshop and my mother selling in front of the school," he said.

Mitra is known to be the best graduate at the UMMY campus in Solok City with a GPA of 3.73. He said he would find a job that matched his dreams.
