The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be turned into a six-door limousine

Photo spies captured a prototype of a W214 sedan with an insert between the doors during testing. Judging by the proportions, the limousine has at least a meter-long insert, and experts are preparing an additional row of seats with a pair of doors! According to preliminary data, the unusual Mercedes-Benz is the creation of the Binz body shop. Previously, similar limousines were converted from the E-Class "two hundred and twelve".

The six-door Mercedes-Benz E-Class debuted in 2010: then Binz added an insert 1.13 meters long, and the total length reached almost six meters. The buyer could order an armored version of the limousine, choose the interior configuration and the filling of the original sedan. Usually, the insert was made for the E 350 version with a six-cylinder 3.5-liter engine. A simpler version of the Mercedes-Benz E 200 was used for the prototype, that is, Binz tested the capabilities of the basic 2.0 petrol turbo four. At the moment, in addition to limousines, the workshop produces hearses, special vehicles for doctors, police, firefighters and rescuers, as well as station wagons for transporting bedridden patients.

The former MAN Truck & Bus plant is used for assembly. Factory Mercedes-Benz limousines have not been produced since the Pullman in the 222 body, but long-wheelbase versions are available for a whole range of models, especially in China. The current Mercedes-Benz E-Class W214 is also stretched in China, although not so extreme: the insert between the axles is 13 centimeters, and the entire increase goes to the rear door.
