Fuso E-Canter Electric Truck Operational Trial In Bali
PT. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), the official distributor of Mitsubishi Fuso vehicles in Indonesia, announced that it will conduct trials of a light electric truck, namely the eCanter, to consumers in Bali starting in August 2022.
This information was announced at the press conference “EV Smart Mobility – Joint Project” organized by the five participating Japanese automotive brands in Nusa Dua, Bali.
The tests carried out by this KTB are a form of greater support in the transition process towards reducing emissions in the transportation industry. This is in line with the Indonesian government's target of achieving carbon neutrality.
Later, the electric truck is planned to be used to distribute raw materials to factories and support shipping routes in the Denpasar, Bali area. KTB and MFTBC look forward to gathering valuable data and input on customer needs and challenges during this exploration phase.
“Under the strong leadership of the Government of Indonesia, we want to contribute towards being carbon neutral with advanced technology. To achieve this, we need to study the actual market needs by communicating intensely with consumers," said Nobukazu Tanaka as President Director of PT KTB.
For information, the Fuso eCanter is a mass-produced electric truck developed by MFTBC as a solution to urban environmental problems such as noise, exhaust gas and CO2 emissions.
Since its first launch in 2017 as the first series electric truck to be produced in the Japanese market, the car has supported logistics businesses and other industries in the ongoing transition to CO2 neutrality.
The Fuso eCanter electric motor produces less noise and vibration than conventional diesel-powered vehicles, and is perfect for city routes and night and early morning operations. So far, more than 350 eCanter vehicles have been delivered to customers in Japan, Europe, Australia and New Zealand, and collectively have covered more than 4.5 million km worldwide.
