Drowsy, Truck Beats PJU in front of the Boyolali Police Headquarters
BOYOLALI - Unable to resist sleepiness, a truck traveling at a moderate speed suddenly hit a public street lighting (PJU) for Solo - Semarang, Tuesday, October 11, 2022.
The loud sound of the impact startled local residents and a number of police officers standing guard in front of the Boyolali Police Headquarters, as a result of the collision the PJU in front of the Boyolali Police Headquarters collapsed and the head of the truck was crushed.
The single accident occurred at around 12:20 WIB. Amat Wahyoto (68) the driver survived the incident. Previously, a truck with license plate number K 1592 LA drove from the east (Solo). The truck, which was traveling at a moderate speed, suddenly hit the right side of the road opening. With one of the wheels still moving above the median of the road the truck kept going. Until finally the speed of the truck stopped after hitting the PJU at the end of the road median opening.
In front of the police, Amat Wahyoto admitted that he could not help but feel sleepy while driving the unloaded truck. According to Wahyoto, the incident happened so quickly. The truck he was driving from Kebak Kramat Karanganyar back to Semarang suddenly had an accident.
"Only a blink of an eye that every few seconds suddenly crash," he explained when met by reporters at the scene.
He admitted that he had just finished loading and unloading chicken feed in the Kebak Kramat area, Karanganyar.
"The front of the truck was crushed. Thank God I'm okay," he added.
This accident was immediately handled by the Boyolali Police Traffic Unit. Police officers soon arrived at the scene to conduct a crime scene investigation.
Kanit Gakkum, Satlantas Polres Boyolali, Ipda Bambang Nova said this single accident was allegedly caused by the driver falling asleep while driving.
"Drowsy, keep slamming to the right and up to the median of the road," he explained.
