Four Palm Oil Trucks Drown While Crossing the Batang Tebo River
JAMBI – When they were about to cross the river using a pontoon, 4 trucks loaded with palm oil drowned and caused 1 driver to drown.
The Head of the Jambi Basarnas Office, Kornelis said that the incident occurred on Friday morning (15/10/2022) at around 01.30.
“There are 4 palm trucks that want to cross the river using a pontoon. When the truck was in the pontoon, the condition of the pontoon was tilted because it had a leak and the 4 trucks were farthest from the river,” he explained.
The incident resulted in 1 driver missing due to drowning and 1 person being seriously injured.
"The identity of the drowning victim is in the name of Jumino (48 years old). At 09.10 WIT Bungo POS SAR Team immediately moved to the scene of the incident by bringing equipment such as a rescue truck, rubber boat and engines, diving equipment, water rescue equipment, communication equipment, and medical equipment.
