"Four suspects are thieves, while two are suspected of being stolen goods," he said, Sunday (16/10/2022).

The suspects come from Lampung, Sedan District, Rembang and Demak Regencies. In particular, the residents of Sedan Sub-district, apart from being a location marker, were also involved in the theft.

The Head of the Rembang Police, AKP Heri Dwi Utomo, confirmed that this case was revealed thanks to the efforts of his members to conduct an investigation.

After receiving the dump truck theft report, the police checked the CCTV cameras at the Rembang border in the direction of Semarang and Surabaya.

"It turns out that the direction of Surabaya is not visible. What is seen is a stolen truck, heading towards Semarang," he said.

After that, members of the Resmob Satreskrim Polres Rembang developed a search to CCTV toll roads, to the Merak-Bakauheni port, until finally it was detected that the truck had been taken away in the East Lampung area.

“So all CCTV cameras were seen, from Rembang, Semarang, even outside Java. It takes patience," he said.

Two stolen trucks, one unit was sold to the Lampung area for Rp. 90 million, while the other one was sold by the perpetrators to Demak. The evidence of a truck from Lampung that has been changed in color has been secured.

"For those sold to Demak, we are still investigating. But we've got our identity. That's why it's better to surrender immediately," he said. During the crime, the group of perpetrators used the Toyota Avanza, which has now also been secured at the Rembang Police Headquarters.
