Six Train Trips Stopped Due to Earthquake

Today, the people of West Java were shocked by an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter Scale (SR), whose epicenter was in the Cianjur Regency area.

The occurrence of the earthquake made PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) (Persero) take various anticipatory efforts. As was done by PT KAI (Persero) Operational Area (Daop) 2 Bandung.

The earthquake, which was quite strong, caused six train trips in the working area of PT KAI (Persero) Daop 2 Bandung to stop for a while.

"That's true. We have stopped several train trips. That is our effort to anticipate the impact of the earthquake in Cianjur," said Kuswardoyo, Manager of Public Relations (Humas) of PT KAI (Persero) Daop 2 Bandung, Monday (21/11/2022).

Kus, as he is affectionately known, revealed that the six train trips that he had stopped were Lodaya, which stopped for 10 minutes at Indihiang Tasikmalaya Station.

Then, Pasundan, who parked for eight minutes at Ciamis Station. Next, South Kutojaya stopped at Banjar Stadium for five minutes.

"The other three, namely Serayu, we stopped at Kiaracondong Station for 12 minutes, Ciremay at Purwakarta Station for 25 minutes, and Siliwangi at Ciranjang Cianjur Station for 23 minutes," he explained.

Kus continued to use the stop of the train to inspect all facilities, both facilities and infrastructure. This, he explained, was to ensure whether there was an effect of the 5.6 magnitude earthquake.

The results of the check, said Kus, all facilities, both facilities and infrastructure, were in a safe condition. However, Kus admits, there are cracks in the Cianjur Station building.

His party, he said, is coordinating with several officers and other elements, both at the station and on the train regarding the development of the situation and condition of the earthquake.

Kuswardoyo said, entering the evening, the six trains which had experienced delays resumed their normal journeys.
