Hit by Cargo Truck, Box Truck Loading Pipes overturned on Ring Road Ngawi
Ngawi - A box truck loaded with pipes overturned on the Ngawi Ringroad Road entering Beran Village, Ngawi District, Ngawi Regency, Wednesday (18/5/2022) at 22.30 WIB. The box truck was hit from behind by a cargo truck, as a result the vehicle swerved and rolled on the side of the road after hitting a tree.
The box truck driver, Soegijatno (59), a resident of Sembung Village, Perak, Jombang, said that he did not know what caused the cargo truck driven by Asep Suparman (58), a resident of Manguharjo Sub-district, Madiun City, to hit his vehicle from behind.
The incident began when a box truck drove in front of a cargo truck from Surabaya to Surakarta. Arriving at the location, suddenly the cargo truck hit the back of the box truck. The box truck swerved to the left until it hit a tree and then rolled over. The truck body covered almost half of the road. There were no victims from the incident.
"I don't know the exact reason why it hit my vehicle from behind. I'm guessing maybe they want to overtake or how not to push. Eventually, it hit the back of my vehicle. Yes, my vehicle immediately swerved to the left, then rolled over after hitting a tree," said Soegijatno.
He said that he was carrying a load of pipes that he wanted to take from Ngoro to Jogjakarta. However, the journey was not smooth because the evacuation of the truck took quite a long time. Traffic flow to go to Solo or Surabaya has stalled due to the evacuation process.
Police officers also came to the location to conduct a crime scene (TKP). At the same time, securing the evacuation route. Congestion is unavoidable both from the direction of Solo and from the direction of Surabaya. By nightfall, the police were still trying to evacuate the truck using a crane.
