Chronology of the Cause of the Pajero Vs Truck Fatal Accident at the Semarang-Batang Toll

 The fatal accident occurred on the Semarang-Batang KM 405 toll road, Magelung Village area, South Kaliwungu District, Kendal Regency, on Saturday (22/6/2024) at around 07.30 WIB.


The incident involved a Pajero car with the number plate AG 1691 AF which hit a truck on the shoulder of the road because it was parked, as a result four passengers died at the scene.

Accident Chronology

According to the Head of the Kendal Police Traffic Unit, Adjunct Commissioner Agus Pardiyono Marinus, this accident was caused by a container truck which stopped on the shoulder of the toll road without experiencing damage or breaking down.

The truck driver is known to have left his vehicle to urinate.

"The container truck did not break down, but parked on the shoulder of the road and the driver went to urinate. We have arrested the truck driver," explained Agus on Sunday, June 23 2024.

The truck stopped on the shoulder of the road blocking the view of the Pajero driver, Fauzy Sulaiman, who was trying to overtake from the right. As a result, Fauzy was unable to control his car and a collision occurred which killed four people.

Travel from Lampung to Blitar

Head of the Kendal Police Traffic Unit inspects the injured victim of a minibus crash into a truck on the Semarang-Batang KM 405 toll road at RSI Muhammadiyah Weleri Kendal.

Fauzy Sulaiman revealed that they left Lampung for Blitar on Friday (21/6) at 16.00 WIB after attending a family event.

During the trip, they took turns driving and resting at the Pekalongan rest area on Saturday morning before continuing their journey at 07.00 WIB.

"I was driving at a speed that wasn't too fast and tried to overtake from the right. However, I didn't see a truck parked in front. I couldn't brake the car and in the end there was a collision," said Fauzy.

After the accident, Fauzy didn't remember anything until he was taken to the hospital.

The victims who died in this accident were Anas Makrufi (31), Sudarmajianto (49), Imro'atus Sholikah (43), and M Rizqi Mustofa Ramadhan. Meanwhile, Ali Mustofa (49) and Fauzy Sulaiman (44) suffered injuries.

The bodies of the four dead victims were taken to Blitar using three ambulances from RSI Muhammadiyah Weleri, Kendal.

"Two of the four victims who died were mother and child, namely Imro'atus Sholikah and Rizqi Mustofa Ramadhan. Both were taken in one ambulance at the request of the family," said RSI Weleri Kendal Public Relations Officer, Farid Hermawan.

The journey to Blitar was escorted by the Kendal Police Traffic Unit until arriving at Wonodadi Village, Wonodadi District, Blitar.

"We will escort three ambulances carrying four bodies to the funeral home," said Ipda Heru, Head of the Kendal Police Traffic Unit Gakkum.

This incident brought deep sorrow to the victim's family and is a valuable lesson for all of us about the importance of safety and caution when driving.
