Car Driver Hits Local Resident in Mlonggo and Flees, Then Crashes into Electricity Pole

A high-speed chase straight out of an action movie took place on the Jepara-Bangsri Main Road on Monday night (06/04/2026). A car driver, suspected of being heavily intoxicated, recklessly fled after hitting a rider of a red PCX motorcycle in the Suwawal area, Mlonggo Subdistrict, Jepara Regency—more precisely near Kota Jati.

Chronology of Events

According to eyewitness accounts at the scene, the incident began when a Wuling car with police plate number A 1853 VGA was driving out of control along the Jepara-Bangsri Main Road in the Mlonggo area. The vehicle then struck a local resident. Instead of stopping to help the victim, the driver accelerated northward (toward Bangsri) to avoid responsibility.

Residents who witnessed the incident immediately reported it to officers from the Mlonggo Sector Police (Polsek Mlonggo) who were on patrol. A pursuit was inevitable.

The Escape Ends in Krasak

The suspect’s flight finally came to an end in the Krasak area, Bangsri Subdistrict. Allegedly due to loss of concentration from the influence of alcohol, the driver lost control, causing the car to crash hard into a roadside pole.

"He seemed to be heavily drunk—his driving was already swerving all over the place. He was chased by the police and residents from the Mlonggo direction until he finally hit the pole here in Krasak," said one eyewitness to Mimin Suara Jepara.

Crowd Rage

Shortly after crashing into the pole, the driver, who tried to get out of the car, became the target of anger from local residents and passing road users. The furious crowd, outraged by the driver’s irresponsible actions, began throwing punches before police officers managed to secure the situation.

Police Action

Currently, the suspect along with the heavily damaged vehicle has been secured by the police for further investigation. Officers are also conducting urine and alcohol tests to confirm the driver’s physical condition at the time of the incident.

Meanwhile, the victim of the collision in the Suwawal area is reported to have received medical treatment. As of the publication of this news, both the Mlonggo Sector Police and the Jepara Police Traffic Unit (Satlantas Polres Jepara) are still processing the crime scene and investigating the exact identity of the driver.
