Truck and Bus Modifiers Compete in Creativity at Padang Panjang AutoShow 2026

Padang Panjang – The Padang Panjang City Government (Pemko) in West Sumatra (Sumbar) continues to drive the development of community-based creative economy and tourism by organizing various regional and national-scale events. One such initiative is its support for the Padang Panjang AutoShow 2026, which features hundreds of truck and bus modifiers from various regions across Indonesia.

Padang Panjang Mayor Hendri Arnis emphasized that automotive activities not only serve as a space for creativity for the younger generation and communities but also deliver significant economic benefits to the public. He made the statement while attending the Ikosho Auto Contest Truck and Bus Modification as part of the Padang Panjang AutoShow 2026 at Chatib Sulaiman Field on Sunday (21/6/2026).

According to Hendri, the presence of participants and visitors from various regions creates opportunities to boost local economic activity, especially in small businesses, culinary, services, and local tourism sectors.

“Events like this provide a space for the younger generation and the automotive community to express their creativity. At the same time, these activities can stimulate the local economy through increased visitor numbers and business activity around the venue. The City Government will continue to support creative events that bring benefits to the community,” Hendri said.

Hendri added that the Padang Panjang City Government is committed to positioning the city as a host for various creative activities that can strengthen the region’s image and attract more tourists.

“We want Padang Panjang to be known not only as a city of education and tourism, but also as a city that successfully organizes various high-quality creative events,” he added.

The Padang Panjang AutoShow 2026 attracted 148 modifiers from West Sumatra, Riau, Jambi, and as far as Kalimantan. The high level of participation reflects the growing trust of the automotive community in Padang Panjang as a venue for large-scale automotive events.

Committee Chairman Yufa Andila stated that participants were divided into five categories: VVIP, VIP, Regular, Medium, and Big. In addition to the modification competition, the event was also filled with various contests and networking gatherings among automotive communities.

Through events like the AutoShow 2026, the Padang Panjang City Government hopes to strengthen the creative economy, tourism, and community businesses, while expanding the city’s promotion at the national level.
