Cybertruck consumer status in Indonesia

In 2019 after it was announced that the Cybertruck would be produced and launched in Indonesia, many Indonesian consumers wanted to own it by paying a down payment of Rp. 100 million. However, as of today, 2022, the general importer of Tesla cars in Indonesia, Prestige Image Motorcars, said that consumers who have ordered the Cybertruck and have paid an advance of Rp. 100 million will faithfully wait for the electric truck, which has been declared production delayed until next year.

The Cybertruck was first shown off by Tesla CEO Elon Musk in November 2019, the announcement said production and sales would begin in 2021.

Prestige has opened a Cybertruck order agreement in Indonesia in 2020 with a down payment of IDR 100 million. And promised consumers will get the unit in 2022.

Then in April 2021, Prestige showcased its replica Cybertruck model to attract more consumers and of course the public can see it up close even though it is not the original item.

Tesla is known to be delaying production of the Cybertruck to 2022. This information was conveyed by Electrek after seeing Tesla's updated ordering site, which said it contained a footnote confirming that the unit was available during 'production as soon as 2022'.

The production delay has the potential to upset and delay the availability of units in Indonesia and not according to Prestige's predictions.

President Director of Prestige, Rudy Salim, confirmed that Cybertruck production was postponed. According to him, his party also has not received certainty from Tesla about when the car will be mass-produced.

"Yes, the production is delayed and there is no definite date [when it will be produced]," said Rudy via text message recently.

Fortunately, Rudy claims that consumers who have ordered Cybertruck in Indonesia have no problem with the information. He said loyal consumers waited even though there were delays.

"Still faithfully waiting," said he, who did not want to explain how many sultan's consumers in Indonesia had ordered Cybertrucks.

Rudy said that his party was still working on Cybertruck according to the target in Indonesia, namely in 2022.

Prestige offers Cybertruck in three variants and three color choices namely black, white, and gray. Each variant has different specifications, especially the battery, drive system, and electric motor.

The single motor variant has a cruising range of 402 km, acceleration from 0-100 km per hour in 6.5 seconds, and a pulling power of 3,401 kg.

Then the dual motor variant has a further cruising range of 482 km, acceleration from 0-100 km per hour in 4.5 seconds, and the power to pull a load weighing 4,535 kg. If the single motor is front-wheel-drive, the dual-motor variant has all-wheel drive or AWD/All-Wheel Drive.

Furthermore, the tri motor also has AWD drive, but with specifications on it. The Tri motor has a cruising range of 800 km, acceleration from 0-100 km per hour in 2.9 seconds, and a pulling power of 6,350 kg.

The price of the cybertruck will start at IDR 1.8 billion off the road in Indonesia.
