Subang - One unit of a tanker truck loaded with Pertamina LPG gas number D 9496 AH caught fire and almost exploded on the northern coast route (pantura) of Subang, Monday (12/9/2022).
Fortunately, firefighters arrived immediately and managed to extinguish the fire, but traffic on the north coast lane was jammed due to the incident.
The fire incident occurred precisely in the north coast, Pusakanagara District, Subang Regency. When the tanker caught fire, black smoke could be seen rising high. The Pertamina LPG tank almost exploded if the firefighters did not respond quickly to this incident.
The Pertamina LPG tanker fire occurred when the vehicle was traveling from Indramayu to Jakarta. Suddenly the right rear tire burst causing fire and quickly burst into flames.
According to the tanker truck driver, Usep, he wanted to send LPG from Balongan Indramayu to the Cianjur area. Suddenly there was a fire incident so he immediately stopped the vehicle at that time.
"I was surprised to see that there was a fire in the back. I immediately stopped the vehicle. At first, the fire was small, but gradually it grew," said the LPG tanker truck driver, Usep.
According to the Head of Pusakanagara Police, Kompol Jusdi Jachlan, there were no fatalities in this accident. However, the traffic flow in both directions on the northern coast line is jammed.
“We are implementing a contraflow system to break down congestion. In addition, the cooling of the vehicle is also carried out. Thank God there were no victims," said Jusdi.
Meanwhile, it appears that a number of officers are still at the scene sterilizing the tanker truck. Meanwhile, the traffic flow that had been jammed began to unravel with a contraflow system on the opposite lane.
