Due to Brake Failure, Box Car Hits Coal Transport Truck
Padang - A Box car crashed into a coal transport truck in the Sireview Lauik area, Indarung Village, Lubuk Kilangan District, Padang City, Wednesday (21/9/2022) afternoon.
Padang Police Traffic Head AKP Alfin said the incident occurred at around 13.00 WIB, near the Paddy Field post, to be precise in front of Bung Hatta Grand Park.
He admitted that the accident was caused by the box car having failed brakes so that it lost control and crashed into a coal truck.
“Box out control car. Then it hit a truck loaded with coal that was coming from the opposite direction," he said.
Alfin explained about the incident. The BA 9013 NE Box Car comes from the east to the west or from Solok towards the Lubuk Begalung Padang By Pass intersection.
“The driver of the Box car named Khatir Nedi suffered a sprained leg and minor injuries. Now his family has taken him," he said.
"Although there were no casualties, the loss is estimated at around Rp. 25 million. Meanwhile, the Box car was crushed in the front," he said again.
