The high traffic volume on the Pontianak Kapuas 2 Bridge with the National Road, Provincial Road, Pontianak City Road, and Kubu Raya Regency Road sections, in West Kalimantan Province, the West Kalimantan Provincial Government limits the operations of freight transportation.
The Regional Secretary for West Kalimantan, Harisson, revealed that the operational restrictions on the transportation of goods include goods transporting vehicles with 6 wheels or more, freight cars with patch trains, freight cars with trailers.
"Vehicles with 6 or more wheels and 20-foot container vehicles are only allowed to operate from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Western Indonesia Time," he explained, Monday, September 12, 2022.
40-feet container vehicles may only operate from 22.00 WIB to 05.00 WIB. Harisson mentioned the need for all parties to ensure security, safety, order, and smooth traffic and road transportation as well as optimize traffic movement on the National Road, Provincial Road, Pontianak City Road, and Kubu Raya Regency Road, in West Kalimantan Province.
Operational restrictions on the transportation of goods as this does not apply to vehicles carrying fuel oil or gas fuel, fire fighting vehicles, ambulance vehicles, TNI/POLRI operational vehicles carrying out their duties, disaster management vehicles, tractor heads without circuits or patches, and transportation vehicles. rubbish.
"During road traffic regulation, traffic signs must be installed in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in the field of road traffic and transportation," explained Harisson.
This operational restriction regulation on the Kapuas 2 Bridge, comes into force after 2 weeks from the date of stipulation.
