Extortion on Dump Truck Drivers Arrested by Police
MATARAM - The extortion case against Dump Truck drivers carrying material (sand) to the Meniting Dam involving suspect J, 28 years old, address Dasan Gria Lingsar District, West Lombok Regency was declared Complete P 21 and in the near future it will proceed to stage 2.

In the explanation given by the Mataram Police Chief, the extortion case or corruption that was revealed by the Mataram Police Criminal Investigation Unit was carried out in June 2022 after a public report was made at the end of April 2022.
"So from May 2022 the opsenal team of the Tipidkor unit has carried out an investigation, both hearing direct information from the victim (the Dump Truck Driver, ed) and other information from various parties, the results of which are strong allegations of corruption, so that in June 2022 we issued a warrant. security against the suspect in question," explained Mustofa.
As is known, suspect J, who has now been named a suspect and whose files have been declared complete by the prosecutor's office, is a member of the Dasan Gria Village Consultative Body (BPD), Lingsar sub-district, West Lombok Regency.
The suspect was caught by OTT when the Mataram Police Reskirim Tipidkor team conducted an operation at one of the fast food restaurants in the Sayang-sayang area, Cakranegara, Mataram City at around 18:30 WITA, (20/06/2022).
"At that time the team arrested the suspect while receiving goods (envelopes) from someone. And when the suspect's belongings were secured, they found several envelopes with names in the suspect's bag, and when opened they contained a total of Rp. 7,626,000. "explained the Chief of Police.
From the disclosure and results of the investigation as well as from the evidence that has been collected, now the suspect's case file is declared complete by the Prosecutor's Office, which will soon be transferred to the Prosecutor's Office.
In accordance with the provisions, the suspect will be charged with Article 12 e of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2021 concerning Amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption Crimes with a maximum threat of 20 years in prison.
