Sumber Alam Launches Jakarta-Yogyakarta Electric Bus
PT Kalista Nusa Armada (KALISTA) together with PT Sumber Alam Ekspres (Sumber Alam) officially launched an electric bus trial for the Jakarta-Yogyakarta intercity interprovincial (AKAP) route.
This activity is also part of the celebration of Sumber Alam's 50th anniversary which was held at the Sumber Adventure Center, Kutoarjo.
KALISTA's President Director, Albert Aulia Ilyas stated that the bus design used in this trial was the winner of the Periklindo Electric Vehicle Show (PEVS) event which was announced on May 10, 2025 at the BisMania National Jamboree.
Electric bus specifications The electric bus used is a 12-meter coach type with a battery capacity of 303 kWh.
The complete specifications include a passenger capacity of 41 people and a range of up to 400 km on a single charge.
"There are also safety features such as emergency door sensors, APAR, emergency door buttons, glass breaker hammers, emergency exits, CCTV, 360 cameras, and seatbelts," said Albert in his official statement, Monday (5/26/2025).
Charging Albert explained that the electric bus will use charging at three main points, namely at the Sumber Alam Yogyakarta Garage, Sumber Alam Ajibarang Restaurant, and Sumber Alam Cikamurang Rest Area.
"Each charging station has a capacity of 200 kW, allowing full charging in less than an hour. This process is carried out together with rest periods so as not to disrupt operations," he said.
Operational efficiency In the trial, the bus recorded an energy efficiency of 1.5 km/kWh with a total distance of 543 km from Yogyakarta to Jakarta.
This electric bus also offers cost efficiency of up to 52 percent more efficient than conventional fossil-fueled buses.

Yogyakarta to Jakarta: At 16.00 via the route Sumber Alam Yogyakarta Garage – Sumber Alam Kutoarjo Pool – Sumber Alam Ajibarang Rest Area – Sumber Alam Pondok Ungu Pool.
Jakarta to Yogyakarta: At 20.00 via the route Sumber Alam Pondok Ungu Pool – Sumber Alam Cikamurang Rest Area – Sumber Alam Ajibarang Rest Area – Sumber Alam Kutoarjo Pool – Sumber Alam Yogyakarta Garage.
