Dishub Pekanbaru to Conduct Crackdown on ODOL Trucks Entering the City

Pekanbaru - The Pekanbaru City Transportation Agency (Dishub) is set to carry out joint enforcement operations to take action against Over Dimension Over Loading (ODOL) trucks that are still passing through city roads.

Head of the Pekanbaru Transportation Agency, Masykur Tarmizi, stated that so far his office has been taking a persuasive approach in controlling ODOL trucks found operating within the city.

“Going forward, we have already prepared a plan, and hopefully we can implement enforcement raids soon,” he said on Tuesday (May 5, 2026).

Masykur explained that during the upcoming operations, ODOL trucks that continue to pass through city roads will face direct enforcement measures.

“Once the raids are conducted, there will certainly be enforcement against ODOL trucks. This is what we are currently preparing, and hopefully it can be implemented soon,” he added.

With stricter enforcement, Masykur hopes there will no longer be any ODOL trucks attempting to enter city roads.

“In essence, we will continue patrols, tighten monitoring at key points, and conduct raids. Hopefully, this will encourage the public to be more disciplined in traffic,” he concluded.

As previously reported, the Pekanbaru City Government has banned ODOL trucks or heavy-tonnage vehicles from passing through city roads starting August 1, 2025.

This policy was introduced to improve safety and traffic flow within the city, which has often been disrupted by trucks exceeding permitted load and size limits.
