The Tanggulangin Bridge that Often Breaks Truck Axles Begins to be Repaired

Several people were seen busy at Tanggulangin Bridge. They were seen assembling concrete iron, and some were installing plywood as formwork. The activity is the process of repairing the Tanggulangin Bridge, which several times broke the axle of the truck.

Met at the location, one of the workers, Suparno said, there are two points on the Tanggulangin Bridge that are currently being repaired. One point is at the end of the west bridge, and the other is in the middle.

“The western one has been completed. Currently, the middle part is one meter by four meters in size," said Suparno to Betanews.id, Wednesday (29/6/2022).

He said that the Tanggulangin Bridge had been damaged. There is a concrete floor in the middle that is broken. Therefore, it was carried out, then the iron-concrete embroidery and casting were carried out.

“This work is already at the formwork stage. Then casting. Our work has been carried out since Monday (27/6/2022) and it is likely that it will take about a week to complete the asphalting stage," he explained.

He said that because the Tanggulangin Bridge is a national cross-road, the construction has been accelerated. Not infrequently he and his colleagues had to work overtime until the night to finish quickly.

“Several times of overtime work, so that it can be finished quickly. The target is to finish the work in a week," he said.

Due to the construction of the Tanggulangin Bridge, traffic from Kudus to Demak has stalled. Several small vehicles and large vehicles with heavy tonnage seemed to creep along the Tanggulangin Bridge. Three members of the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) also tried to regulate traffic to avoid long traffic jams.
