UD Trucks at GIIAS 2022 Commitment to Support Environmentally Friendly Clean Energy
JAKARTA - Astra UD Trucks Indonesia through PT UD Astra Motor Indonesia (UD AMI) participated in the 2022 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) exhibition. The company showcased the latest Quester UD Trucks Euro 5 product with Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), in line with goals for a better life for logistics, planet and people.
"We want to move as much as possible to support the government's programs and efforts in using cleaner and environmentally friendly energy," said UD AMI President Director Toshihiko Odawara at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, Thursday (11/8/2022).
Toshihiko revealed, UD Trucks Indonesia is aggressively developing technology that is higher than the government's regulatory standards.
"The innovations that we are doing at UD Trucks Indonesia today are very much in line with our commitment to a sustainable future. The Quester Euro 5 model reflects UD Trucks' 'better life' commitment," he said.
Therefore, on the occasion of GIIAS 2022, Toshihiko officially opened the exhibition by showing 4 series of heavyweight trucks, the Quester. This update also offers enhanced features while reducing the environmental impact of the vehicle and retaining the advantages of the previous model.
A number of advanced features are offered on the Quester, resulting in increased fuel economy with an optimized driveline.
"Considering that emissions from transportation alone have the potential to increase global emissions levels by more than 1.5 percent, UD Trucks has grown further to meet modern transportation and environmental challenges," he said.
He added that the company also became the first truck manufacturer to introduce SCR technology in 2004. The new line of UD Trucks features SCR technology which can significantly improve environmental protection and fuel economy.
"With these advantages, SCR technology has proven to be more reliable with fuel quality and robust operation, when compared to other emission control technologies to reduce emissions," concluded Toshihiko.
