Mining Trucks Worse Slippery Roads in Leuwiranji

GUNUNGSINDUR – Mining trucks crossing the Leuwiranji bridge on the border of Rumpin and Gunungsindur exacerbate the damaged and slippery road conditions.

“The body of the bridge is made of steel slabs covered with asphalt. But a lot has been peeled off. Add water and mud, so it's slippery. Road users must be careful," said Abdul Mukti (45), a resident of Jampang Village, Saturday (10/9/2022).

Chairman of the Alliance for Mining Line Movement (AGJT) Junaedi Adhi Putra said that the damage to asphalt on the road and the Gunungsindur Rumpin road, precisely around Leuwiranji Village, Sukamulya, was not only caused by the rain, but also due to the activity of mining trucks.

“The damaged roads, slippery bridges, are part of the homework of the Bogor Regency Government and the West Java Provincial Government. Because one of the causes is the activity of passing mining trucks,” said Jun, his nickname.

While being asked for a response regarding this matter, a member of the Bogor Regency DPRD from Gunungsindur District, Edi Kusmana Surya Atmaja explained that the Leuwiranji road and bridge were actually not suitable for crossing a large fleet of mining or tronton transports whose cargo volume reached tens of tons.

"It's a district-class road, the tonnage is only 8 tons, but it's still being crossed by mining trucks containing tens of tons. It's definitely damaged quickly and in the end it's the people who feel the most impact,” said Eksa, his nickname.

The PPP politician added that from the information he received, the Muspika ranks from Gunungsindur and Rumpin, had several times been active in regulating and stopping mining trucks that violated the rules and caused traffic jams and damaged roads.

However, the enforcement of these rules, continued Eksa, must be faced with the dilemma of pros and cons that occur in the community. And the most difficult thing is when it comes to matters of interest in the economic (business) realm of the community.

“In fact, I believe that the tronton mining truck fleet does not contribute to regional income. In the end, it will only become the burden of the district and provincial governments who must continuously provide budget funds to repair damaged roads and bridges," said Eksa.
