Prabowo Initiates Collaboration with Airbus and Other Countries to Manufacture Helicopters Made in Indonesia
Bogor, West Java - Minister of Defense (Menhan) Prabowo Subianto encourages cooperation between the Indonesian defense industry PT Dirgntara Indonesia and aircraft manufacturer Airbus and other countries to manufacture Indonesian-produced helicopters.
"We have a long-term collaboration with Airbus, leading to us producing our own helicopters. We are pioneering with other countries. "We are optimistic that the development of our defense industry will be good and strong," said Prabowo at Atang Sendjaja Air Base, Bogor, Friday (1/12/2023).
Prabowo said that Indonesia itself has provisions that there must be a transfer of technology and local content in the acquisition of defense equipment from abroad.
"There must be technology transfer and there must be local content, yes, local content, and there must be offsets," said Prabowo.
“Later they will also give it to us. Then Indonesia's position is that we always negotiate local content and there are rewards. "Yeah, all kinds of things, later training education and so on," he added.
Prabowo on Friday (1/12) handed over 8 new heavy lift helicopters, H225M to the Chief of Air Staff (KSAU) Marshal TNI Fadjar Prasetyo at Atang Sendjaja Air Base, Bogor.
Prabowo said the existence of this new defense equipment was part of efforts to strengthen Indonesia's defense forces. Basically, the aim of developing national defense is to protect all of Indonesia's bloodshed. For this reason, a strong defense is vital and must be possessed by Indonesia.
"Today I had the honor of being invited to the ceremony to hand over the H225M helicopter to our Indonesian Air Force, including the simulator. This is part of our efforts to build our defense strength," said Prabowo.
"State defense is a national goal of our nation. And the goal of the Republic of Indonesia is to protect all of the nation's blood. All of the nation's safety, all of the nation's wealth, all of the nation's future, can only be guaranteed by strong defense," he continued.
"We witnessed the handover of 8 H225M Airbus helicopters made in France, but also collaboration with PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PTDI).
