Bailey Bridge Finished, Matang Bangka Villagers Recover Their Activities

Bireuen - Residents of Matang Bangka have resumed their daily activities after the Bailey Bridge connecting Matang Bangka and Matang Teungoh villages was completed. The bridge was previously cut off by flash floods at the end of November.

The Bailey Bridge, which was completed on Sunday (December 21, 2025), is now open to both motorcycles and motorcycles. Construction was carried out by Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) engineers from the Iskandar Muda Military Command (Kodam Iskandar Muda).

This bridge is the 10th Bailey Bridge completed by the TNI after the disaster. Its presence has restored connectivity between villages.

One resident expressed his appreciation for the bridge's completion. "Thank you to the President and the TNI soldiers who repaired the Matang Bangka Bridge," he said.

Another resident said the bridge has greatly improved the community's daily activities. "We can now go back to the market and carry out other activities," he said.

The Indonesian flag was seen flying on both sides of the operational bridge. Social and economic activities are gradually returning to normal.

During the construction process, Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers worked together with local residents. The bridge area was cleared and TNI excavators were deployed.

The bridge's steel panels were assembled in stages, and wooden beams were laid as the floor. The collaboration between the TNI and residents expedited the bridge's completion.
